New Patient Registration
We welcome new patients to the practice. We have a ‘pooled’ practice list which means you are registered with the practice and not an individual doctor. However, you are still able to see the doctor of your choice.
Currently, we can only accept patients who live within the practice area which includes the surrounding villages and hamlets including:
To the North: Cornhill on Tweed, Etal, Milfield, Mindrum, Kirknewton, Akeld.
To the South: Powburn, Glanton, Whittingham, Thrunton
To the East: Doddington, Lowick, Chillingham, Chatton, Bewick.
To the West: into the beautiful hills and valleys surrounding the Cheviots.
If you want to join the practice, please complete a registration form which can be obtained from reception or downloaded here and a health questionnaire which can be downloaded here.
A registration pack is also available which gives full practice details and the services we offer.
There is no need to contact your old practice as we will obtain your medical records via Northumberland Care Trust who will ask your old practice to send your records to them and, they in turn, will forward them to us. This system can be quite lengthy, especially if you were registered outside Northumberland so we ask that you complete a patient questionnaire so that we are aware of any medical condition(s) you may have and medication you may be taking.
When you register, we will ask you to make an appointment to see one of the doctors for an introductory meeting and new patient health check.
Changes to Personal Details
It is important that your information is kept up to date.
Please remember to let us know if you are moving home, have changed your name, your telephone number, have a new mobile number or email address.
We have the facility through our clinical system to be able to contact patients by text message and email to give you results, to make or remind you about appointments and to let you know of important news in the practice.
Guide to GP Services
The Royal College of General Practitioners has produced a useful guide for patients about the services on offer at GP Surgeries and how to access them. You can download the guide below.
