Repeat medication can be ordered by post, telephone between 8.30am and 1pm, on-line or in person.
To register for online services, including making appointments, contact reception for a login name and initial password.
It is important that you give us your full name and address and also exactly what medication you need to order. It helps the receptionist if you read the names from the slip that was in the bag with your last medication rather than what is on the box itself.
It is also important that you give us at least 48 hours (2 working days) notice before you need to collect your medication as we, or the pharmacy, may need to order it from our suppliers.
For dispensing patients (those who live more than a mile from a pharmacy and have their medication dispensed at the surgery), medication can be collected between 8.30am & 6pm Monday to Friday and normally up until 7.30pm on Weds.
We also offer a weekly remote delivery service to Powburn, *Lowick, Chatton, Milfield and Cornhill. Orders MUST be received by 12 noon on Monday for delivery on Thursday. *Lowick deliveries are made on Wednesday morning so the orders must be in by the previous Friday. This is not an NHS-service and is provided by the staff out of the goodness of their hearts. It therefore won’t be available when they are on holiday, on sick leave or in adverse weather conditions.
If you need medicines urgently, please contact the surgery during normal hours.
After hours, at weekends or during Bank Holidays, contact NHS 111
The current prescription charge is £8.80 per item
You can buy pre-payment cards for £29.10 for 3 months or £104 for a full year. These will save you money if you need more than 3 prescribed items in 3 months and more than 12 in the year. PPCs are available by 10 monthly direct debit instalment payments.
All prescription charges are paid over to the Government so we are unable to afford a card facility. However, you can pay for your prescription in advance by BACS. Please ask at reception for the bank details.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
