WITHDRAWAL OF PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES FROM WOOLER

A new JMAPS (joint musculoskeletal and pain clinic) service started across Northumberland on the 1st July.  As part of this, the CCG decided that the physio service in Wooler would be withdrawn but, due to pressure from the practices and patient groups, they have agreed that the service will continue for one day a week from August.

We have been further informed today (9th July) that any patients wishing to be referred to orthopaedic services for treatment have to have contact with the JMAPS service first and we are therefore unable to refer directly to orthopaedics.

This is something, again, which we were not informed about by the CCG and are awaiting further communication from them.

We will continue to fight to maintain physio services in Wooler as will our patient group.

Do It Online

GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to:

  • book or cancel appointments online
  • renew or order repeat prescriptions online
  • view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at www.nhs.uk/gponlineservices
